FEED 5,000 – EVANGELISM IN AFRICA

  1. A) EHC Sierra Leone:The team shared the ministry vision in three regions, mobilizing 450 new believers who distributed 6,000 tracts and learned to become fishers of men. They also plan to enhance the training of believers for them to use tracts effectively in evangelism. May more churches be inspired to participate and enable the team's outreach to have lasting impact in the entire nation.
  2. B) EHC Zambia:They held outreach rallies in mid-July in the southern provinces and had encouraging results where 100 precious souls decided to follow the Lord. 81 of the new believers have been introduced to churches with pure faith for nurturing and pastoral care.
  3. C) EHC Zanzibar:Child abduction for the evil purpose of organ harvesting is rampant in this country and victims are killed after their organs were stolen. The people of this pagan nation are enslaved by Satan due to ignorance and superstition to commit such heinous crimes. Pray for God's protection over the poor children and for the Gospel’s light to shine into dark hearts, leading the people to repent and return to God.

CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS IN SINGAPORE (CCIS) FUNDRAISING

Time flies, and this year’s CCIS will happen in less than 3 months on 14 December and run until 21 December. Fundraising efforts have also accelerated, and the committee worked tirelessly to prepare for the fundraising dinner on 09 September right after the movie premier concluded. The dinner will be held at Imperial Restaurant, with 26 tables available at $2,500 each, and individual seats starting at $300. We hope to raise over $65,000 for the budget, but the funds raised so far are still insufficient for the target. Pray for the Lord's guidance and the generosity and participation of churches and brethren to reach out with the Christmas Gospel and bring many in the visiting crowds to salvation. Pray also for God to empower the committee as they plan the programmes and host the performers, and for the voices of the choir to resound through the Christmas season to touch hearts deeply for the Saviour who came to seek and save the lost. We look forward to your support and participation.

FESTIVE GOSPEL TRACTS: “THE CHRISTMAS GIFT WHICH EVERYONE CAN RECEIVE” AND “BLESSINGS”

Christmas and Chinese New Year are excellent opportunities to spread the Gospel and many churches would use SEHC’s tracts during festive rallies and activities to reach out to neighbours and invite them to attend the events. In June, Rev. David Ng from the Community Outreach Committee of the Lutheran Church in Singapore visited us to order 20,000 copies each of “The Christmas Gift Which Everyone Can Receive” and “Blessings” tracts customized with their church address, to mobilize members to distribute them to the unreached community and proclaim God's gift of salvation and blessing of eternal life. Pray that the Lord blesses their outreach efforts and add to the number of the saved in the church. The urgency of evangelism today cannot be overstated. Pray for the Lord to lead the churches to be prepared and use gospel tracts to spread the good news faithfully for the Lord.

SEHC MINISTRY UPDATES FOR PRAYERS AND SUPPORT

This July, SEHC gave out a total of 736 complimentary books and booklets, of which 167 were given to local believers and 569 were sent to disadvantaged groups in Kuantan and Terengganu, West Malaysia, and to Bro. Lin and his wife who conduct campus ministry. These books were picked up by two local sisters in Christ who then paid for postage to mail them to Malaysia. We are grateful to the Lord for their loving contribution. The books include: Our Daily Focus (74), Assurance of Salvation (25), The Best Gift (130), Things to Come (15), The God-Inspired Book (10), Parable Stories (10), Choices (200), Life’s Journey of Growth (12), The Blessed Woman (17), and a mix of 243 other titles. A retired local teacher also regularly picks up our books to give to PRC Chinese as part of her well-received evangelism efforts. Brethren are welcome to pick up these complimentary materials for personal reading or gifting to others, to promote literary evangelism and help believers grow in God's truth.

“CHRISTIAN ESCHATOLOGY” AND “THE JOURNEY OF GRACE” – DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF THE BIBLE

The first book, written by Rev. Dr. Peter Wongso, is a compilation of his personal notes from over 30 years of studying the Bible and eschatology. The content is clear, logical, and well-argued. The second book, written by Bro. Li Jing Kang, tells the author’s story of how he experienced God's deliverance and presence with him in the valley of the shadow of death, rescuing him from deadly circumstances in each step of his life. Pray for the Lord to use these two books to inspire many hearts.

“VICTORIOUS PRAYER COURSE” AND “NO EASY ROAD” – THE IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER

Both books were written by Rev. Dr. Dick Eastman. The first book is divided into sixteen lessons covering topics such as A Confident Battle, Angelic Perspective of Prayer Warfare, Seeking God, and Spiritual Warfare, etc. The second book discusses how prayer is important to the Christian life but is often difficult to persist. Prayer is a difficult endeavour. The road to heaven is often obscured by myriad obstacles. Those interested in conquering rugged prayer heights will find challenge and guidance in this book. May these two books help believers in their prayer training.

“100 BIBLE LESSONS (VOL. 2)” AND “LET’S TALK HEART” – LET THE HOLY SPIRIT GUIDE YOUR HEART

Written by Dr Alban Douglas, the first book continues where the first volume left off and contains 3 lesson themes: lessons on God the Father, lessons on God the Son, and lessons on God the Holy Spirit. It is an excellent refence text for those studying biblical truths and for self-enrichment by lay believers. The second book by Dr. James Yu explores the human heart, including our thoughts, will, and emotions. The Bible contains plenty of insights on the heart and how to manage it, while the Holy Spirit performs His transformative work. Orders are welcome from all believers.

“THE BEST BLESSING” AND “IS THERE A GOD” – COME AND KNOW THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE

The first booklet was written by Elder Samuel Ching and is a compendium of several gospel tracts he wrote in recent years. It presents the Gospel to different readers using various perspectives that can work best for them, helping them to realize that the Gospel is God’s salvation for the world and is needed by everyone. The second booklet by Rev. Samuel Lamb discusses with the reader if God indeed exists. The book contains 5 chapters on topics such as Even Though It Is Invisible, The Wonder of Creation, and The Wonder of Life, and cites relevant quotes from famous persons to support his reasoning. Both booklets are ideal gifts for unsaved friends. Pray for the Lord’s use of the books.
