FEED 5,000 – EVANGELISM IN AFRICA
- A) Zambia EHC: Pray for the shipment of literature from Every Home’s long-time partner World Missionary Press that is destined for Zambia. The materials are to be used to equip local believers with resources for evangelism and discipleship. We praise the Lord that EHC Zambia is going to every home in their country with the Gospel!
- B) EHC Senegal: Christians in this country in the western-most side of Africa enjoys freedom to evangelise but the population of believers is tiny while the number of the unsaved total more than 15 million. Apart from the usual outreach, co-workers need to travel long distances to different locations to conduct nurturing, discipleship, and evangelism classes for believers. Pray for their safe journeys and for them to win many souls for the Lord.
- C) EHC Zimbabwe: In the early Church, many women held crucial roles in the spread of the Gospel. EHC Zimbabwe hopes to organise a series of events to raise the evangelistic awareness of sisters-in Christ using films and literature and recruit them to become outreach volunteers like what Mary and other early Christian sisters did when they went around to proclaim the resurrection of the Lord. Pray for the Spirit of God to touch them and lead them to become ambassadors of the Gospel to other women.
CCIS PREPARATIONS AND FUNDRAISING
Since its founding in 2004, CCIS had helped to mobilised churches in the propagation of the Gospel. Participation by churches is thus an integral and indispensable part of our ministry if we were to be able to proclaim the Good News of the Incarnation of the Lord to the world. This year’s celebrations held a special meaning, as it follows the reopening of international borders after almost 3 years of lockdowns due to the pandemic. With the resulting huge inflow of tourists, popular places of interest such as Orchard Road are expected to be flooded with visitors during the Christmas season and presents great opportunities to share the Gospel. The committee is working hard on the preparations and programmes with local and overseas groups, and hope to offer performances that clearly deliver the message of salvation and lead the audience to know the amazing love from above. Three local Methodist churches have joined our list of performers. The pressing need for CCIS right now continues to be the budget of S$400,000. Please pray for the committee’s fundraising plans and ask for God to lead churches, Christian businesses, and Christian businesspeople to lend their support in the joint effort to fulfill the Great Commission. Through the celebrations this year, let us show the world that the true meaning of Christmas was all about Jesus, our only Lord and Saviour.
GHANA PARTNERS TEAM – TRACTS ARE THE TOOLS TO LEAD OTHERS TO GOD
Gospel tracts lead readers away from sin and towards God through clear presentations of the gospel message, and are the effective tools used by the Ghana Partners to reach the hearts of the unsaved. The town of Essumeja was a pagan stronghold, and notorious for its rate of alcoholism because of its main product, palm wine. The team led 197 new believers to Christ here during their door-to-door outreach and wasted no time in conducting nurturing classes for them. 192 of them were baptised and joined churches, while 364 backslidden Christians rededicated themselves to serve the Lord.
Another of their teams worked with a Presbyterian church to seek lost sheep in Begoro, an agricultural town with many migrant workers. Prostitution and other vice services targeting migrants and truck drivers came into being in response to the demand and many naïve girls were trapped in the clutches of vice and sin. This led to many children born out of wedlock. Many jobless youth also turned to cheating and online scamming to make a living. In this land of darkness and sin, only the Gospel can return light to the people. One Christian parliamentarian knew this very well, and she invited the Ghana Partners to her ward to give out the “Who is the True God” tract, hoping that the love of God would light up the hearts of the many pimps, prostitutes, cheats, and drug addicts, and make them into new creations by the Gospel.
The Presbyterian church opens their premises at night for the team to conduct gospel rallies and classes for new believers and help many who misunderstood the church to rid their prejudice. Many churches that have gone cold about evangelism were re-inspired to participate in tract outreach. Pray for God to open the way for them. We are grateful for God’s presence with the ambassadors of the Gospel, bestowing bountiful harvests upon them after they had toiled hard in the fields. We also thank the God-loving church elder couple, who have again sponsored the cost to produce tracts for the team’s use. Please pray more for the needs on the harvest fields.
SEHC PROJECT OIKOS – EVANGELIZING OUR ISLAND FOR THE 7TH TIME
Since its founding, EHC had committed to the Lord’s Great Commission through home-to-home evangelism by its many branches across the world. Whether it’s in a sprawling city, a village in deep jungles, or a remote island, you can always find the tracks of our EHC co-workers working hard to send gospel tracts to every household. This is also the mission of SEHC for the many past years, and we have already completed the evangelising of our island nation 6 times. As times changed and society progressed, previously uninhabited places are now occupied by dense populations as new flats and homes were built. Add to that the new generations of citizens and the inflow of immigrants, and it becomes pertinent to launch the 7th round of island-wide outreach. We are currently recruiting volunteers to conduct tract distribution and outreach at HDB and private residential estates across the island, and welcome interested brethren to contact us. Pray for the Lord to raise many suitable volunteer candidates and provide for the funding needs, so that those who have yet to hear the Gospel can know the precious salvation Christ bought for us. Let us pray for many to find eternal life and for the Lord’s name to be heard across the land.
MINISTRY UPDATES - PLEASE PRAY FOR SEHC
Aside from diligently reading the Bible, spiritual books can also greatly benefit one’s spiritual growth. SEHC has been promoting reading among the brethren, and from this April to June, we have given away 520 books to churches and brethren. These include: The Perfect Plan (147), Time to Fly (102), Love On Its Knees (51), What Is Happening to the World (40), Our Daily Focus (38), The Transformed Life (17), Things to Come (12), Journey of Life’s Growth (10), and 103 books of various other titles. We welcome all brethren to come by our bookroom to pick up some books for self-reading or for friends and relatives. Good spiritual books will nourish our spirits and help us grow in our knowledge of the Lord.
CREATIVE ACCESS REGIONS CHURCH PLANTING AND DISCIPLESHIP
Thanks be to God; Country J is a new door opened to the Gospel. The team has gotten in touch with churches there and are building good rapport with them with plans to explore new gospel fields. Pray for the prosperous development of the Gospel in these new harvest lands so that many can enter into God’s light through the Gospel. The authorities in Country E had been coming down hard on literary gospel materials lately. Please pray for the bans to be lifted soon so that the co-workers can resume their door-to-door outreach. Pray also for the Lord’s hand to guide and protect them as they travel between various villages and meet with trials and challenges.A brave and passionate pastor in Country S was arrested and tried on trumped-up charges recently because of his active evangelistic efforts and sentenced to 12 to 25 years in prison. It was not uncommon for the enemy to employ such dirty tactics to hinder the spread of the Gospel, but the word of God cannot be bound! Pray for the righteous grace of the Lord to vindicate him and comfort him and his loved ones and allow him to be freed soon. Pray also for all things to work for the good of those who love God, so the light of the Gospel will shine through all resistance and suffering to light up darkened hearts.

“INSURANCE FOR THE SOUL” AND “DON’T WORRY” – BRINGING PEACE FOR YOU
The first tract was the work of the late Rev. Hsueh Yu Kwong and explores the reality of the human soul, using 4 points of evidence to demonstrate the soul’s existence. Our souls are at risk of being invaded or possessed, so we need a strong insurance for it, which Jesus Christ is happy to provide at no cost. By accepting Him as your Lord and Saviour, the hope of eternal life is yours to have. Elder Samuel Ching wrote the latter tract to teach readers how to let go of worries even in trying times. Sin caused mankind to lose the grace and salvation of God, but by believing in Christ, one can again receive true peace and joy. Whatever the world becomes, Jesus the Saviour will live in you. Please pray for its use and result in God’s work.
“FORGED IN FIRE” AND “I WANT TO BE A CHRISTIAN” – CHRISTIANITY FROM DIFFERENT ANGLES
The first book is a work on apologetics by Dr. David Liang. The content is founded upon pure faith, accurate arguments, rich content, and has a fluent and readable style that makes it a great tool for evangelising. The author also collated articles from several authoritative non-Christian science journals and comments from leading academics. The latter book by Bro. Fan Xuede contains his autobiography of the struggles of faith he underwent over the years. It looks at what it means to be a Christian from several angles and explains the duties and responsibilities of a believer. This is a good read for new believers looking to edify their faith. Both these books are ideal gifts for non-believers friends. Pray for their use by the Lord.
“A SUMMARY OF LUKE” AND “50 PARABLES OF JESUS” – UNDERSTANDING BIBLICAL CONCEPTS
In the first book, Elder Xu Yanxing provides an analytical explanation for the Gospel of Luke chapter by chapter, offering a to-the-point exposition to help readers understand the core tenets of the Gospel. Each chapter also includes a verse of scripture for memory of God’s word. The latter book from Elder Samuel Ching explores parable of the Lord in the 4 Gospels. The author gives a detailed account of each parable and its background, meaning, spiritual significance, and teaching, including its application in daily life and ministry. These books are ideal for brethren who enjoy studying the Bible. Pray for the Lord to use them.
“WAY OF THE MISSION” AND “LIFE OF WISDOM” – WISDOM FROM GOD
The first book was written by Rev. Dr. Cyrus Lam as course materials to address missions training needs. Consisting of 12 chapters, it includes the basics of missions, how to identify and overcome challenges in missions, and understanding the pitfalls and examples in evangelism from a missionary perspective. The second book is Rev. Dr. David Tey’s work about wisdom. There is human wisdom, and then there is God’s wisdom, which is beyond human comprehension. To know God is thus the beginning of true wisdom. The author emphasizes that wisdom begets reverent fear of the Lord, which in turn leads to salvation. By His wisdom, one can lead a victorious life. These books are suitable for fellow believers. Pray for their wide use.
