FEED 5,000 CAMPAIGN – EVANGELISM IN AFRICA
- A) EHC Nigeria: “Nation shall rise against nation” (Matthew 24:7) is a sign of the Lord’s imminent return, and it has already begun to happen around the world. Recently, 300 innocent villagers in Plateau state were massacred by Fulani herdsman, and the EHC co-workers were deeply disturbed by such an act of terror. Pray for the Lord to stem the senseless violence and protect the co-workers as they travelled about to spread His word. Pray for the survivors to come to Jesus and find peace to allay their fear, and experience for themselves God’s aegis of protection and care.
- B) EHC Namibia: Students are at a time of their life where they should be able to focus on their studies, yet many here have fallen into substance abuse and eventually dropped out of school. Pray for the Lord to cast down the evil one’s plans to destroy their future and hold them in bondage with drugs, and for Him to lead the EHC co-workers into the campus to bring the Gospel to the youth, so that by its power they can break apart the chains of sin and evil.
- C) EHC Angola: Some villages in this nation are very poor and backward, such as Console, which lacks even essential amenities like a school or hospital, let alone other community facilities and services. Pray for the outreach ministry of the EHC team to enable the poor to finally hear the Gospel and touch their hearts to call out to Christ, and for them to receive much needed help through the abundant grace of the Lord (Esther 1-3).
CCIS PREPARATIONS AND OUR APPEAL FOR YOUR SUPPORT
The two fundraising dinners in October have successfully concluded. We thank God and our enthusiastic guests for their support for the ministry of CCIS. However, our funds still fall short of the amount needed for the budget and we need to put in more effort to raise the difference. Pray for God to raise more churches and brethren to lend us their generous support so that the committee can focus without worry on the preparations for the programmes, hospitality for overseas performers, stage setup, equipment logistics, and permits and insurance. It is for one singular goal that CCIS pours in all this time and effort every year to present the celebration event: “so that by all possible means we might save some.” (1 Corinthians 9:22). We pray for every Christian to come together and shoulder the Great Commission so that more people will know that “The Incarnate Christ is the Saviour of All Humankind”. In these turbulent and adverse times, we can find heavenly peace and salvation only in Jesus Christ. Let us “do all this for the sake of the Gospel, that we may share in its blessings” (1 Corinthians 9:23). Please come before God’s throne of grace to pray for the celebrations to be held from 16 to 22 December and also let Him inspire you to consider lending us your support.
GOD’S PRESENCE WITH EVANGELISTS IN CREATIVE ACCESS REGIONS
The strong resistance against the Gospel in Country Z did not extinguish the co-workers’ passion, and God’s presence and mighty works were with them wherever they brought the Gospel, opening the people’s eyes to see that Jesus our Saviour is God, who came from heaven to become human so that mankind can be saved from sin.
Christians in Country L constantly faced the enmity and opposition of unbelievers, so it takes far greater faith and courage to accept Christ in this place. Please pray for the protection of new believers and their growth in the faith, and for the co-workers who draw upon God’s strength and wisdom to fulfill the Great Commission in these adverse circumstances. Pray also for God to uphold the evangelists who are in prison for Him and for their release, and our leader who has taken ill in the scorching heat.
The enemy’s forces seek to hinder the Gospel’s spread, but God’s word cannot be chained (2 Timothy 2:9) and those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. Many new believers in Country S have been baptized after completing their discipleship training. Pray for the Lord to help them stand firm in every situation. Meanwhile, in Country C, 10 new believers were secretly baptized at a river. Pray for their spiritual growth in the Lord and for them to overcome all trials and challenges to become the Lord’s disciple-makers and evangelists.
SEHC MINISTRY UPDATES – PLEASE PRAY FOR AND SUPPORT US
Between August and September, SEHC gave out 1,170 books and booklets, with 760 of them given to local churches and believers, and 410 sent to Kuantan, Malaysia for Bro. Lim who evangelizes to the marginalized, vulnerable, and other special communities. “BLESSED CHRISTMAS” AND “COME CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS” – UNDERSTANDING CHRISTMAS
The first tract by Dr. James Yu tells readers about Jesus’s birth. He came to save God’s people from sin so they can become His children. If you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you will discover the true meaning of Christmas and His presence with you in your heart. The latter tract explains why we celebrate Christmas, which was really about the birth of Christ and the coming of salvation. The author cites famous quotes to support his point that Christmas is the wonderful time when people can finally find and return to God by receiving Jesus into their lives. “LIFE OF WISDOM” AND “I WOULD RATHER HAVE JESUS” – A GUIDE FOR YOUR LIFE
The first book by Rev. Dr. David Tey explores how to live a life of wisdom. Wisdom can be further classified into human wisdom, and the mysterious wisdom of the Lord. To know Him is the beginning of true wisdom, for He gave us intelligence and enabled us to understand the mysteries of divine wisdom. Through Jesus Christ we awakened the wisdom to seek salvation. The second book by Rev. Guo Chaobin is a collection of articles first published in the Heavenly Manna monthly magazine of the Chinese Baptist Press. “ESSENTIALS OF BIBLICAL TRUTH” AND “I WANT TO BE A CHRISTIAN”
Elder Samuel Ching wrote the first book that organises biblical truths from the OT and NT and explains them to readers so they can systematically pick up in-depth understanding of God’s word and receive holistic equipping in faith. The topics of the book include sin, knowing the Holy Spirit, and active evangelism. The latter book, written by Bro. Fan Xuede, describes the Christian faith from both emotional and rational perspectives, offering a multi-faceted look at what it means to be a Christian. The author also discusses the sovereign election of God and how it aligns with human free will, and how our deeds and faith interact. “LEGEND OF THE BIBLE” AND “A DATE FOR THE HEART” – CLARITY FOR BIBLICAL TRUTH
Using the format of an episode-based novel, Rev. Elisha Wu presents the stories of the Bible in 38 lively and colourful well-illustrated chapters to help readers understand biblical teachings with ease. “HAPPY FAMILY GUIDEBOOK” AND “EMPEROR OF THE UNIVERSE” – OVERCOMING LIFE’S CHALLENGES IN CHRIST
The first booklet was written by a team of co-workers for the modern family unit, including both children and adults. Through the teachings of Christ, the authors aim to help parents and their children discuss and understand problems faced by families today. Lively illustrations in the booklet help the young ones to understand the content. Rev. Dick Eastman is the author of the latter booklet which seeks to help readers discover the real meaning of life. It explores topics such as the origin of life, truth, and joy. Our problems can only meet real solutions after we get to know the Emperor of the universe.
