FEED 5,000 – EVANGELISM IN AFRICA

1. A) EHC Tanzania: Zanzibar is a semiautonomous region of Tanzania in East Africa. Most people identify as pagan. Christians are oppressed and cannot freely worship, preach the gospel, or do anything related to building the kingdom of God without discrimination. Pray against persecution in this area.
2. B) EHC Niger: “Pray for the security of our country,” the Every Home team in Niger asks, “because in some areas it is not possible to cultivate important relationships with new believers due to terrorist threats. We humbly request that you join us in prayer for courage and protection in these days.”
3. C) EHC Libya: Tuberculosis is a constantly lurking health threat to Libya. Due to its airborne nature, people could easily be infected through close proximity. Many thus avoid the patients like the plague and some even demonize them. The co-workers hope to set up a prayer and visitation ministry in the worst affected areas, and to evangelize and start Christ Groups for those communities. Please pray for their efforts.

THIS TROUBLED WORLD NEEDS THE LIGHT AND HOPE OF JESUS’ RESURRECTION

Most countries have elected to live with the virus and lifted most if not all border restrictions in a bid to revitalize their badly battered economies. However, the never-ending emergence of new COVID strains continue to engulf people’s hearts in fear and worry. Since the fall of Adam, mankind had been under the constant threat of death. The pandemic, wars, and all kinds of natural and manmade disasters nowadays have only accelerated our pace towards the end. Even those who had enjoyed a peaceful life without troubles or disease must eventually die. However, thanks be to God for sending His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us and overcome death on the third day! He defeated the barb of death so that those who believe in Him need to fear death no more because they have hope for the resurrection. This is the Good News that Christians proclaim to the world and the ray of hope that this troubled world needs. A B-P church had ordered 20,000 copies of the tract “The Hope of Easter”, printed with their church address, for outreach in HDB estates. Pray for the numbers of the saved in their church to increase. We also hope that more brethren would take the opportunity to share the Gospel with others during Easter using our tracts to lead many to Christ.

2022 TALLY OF SEHC TRACTS USED BY CHURCHES AND BRETHREN

We thank God that with the stabilization of the pandemic and the lifting of safe distancing measures, more churches and brethren have returned to tract outreach in 2022. Besides housing estates, many teams also reached out to migrant worker communities and hostels. As expected, when the Gospel brings many to receive salvation, resistance from the evil one would also intensify. He hates it when people are saved by the Gospel and would use all manner of threats and accusations by those who resist the Gospel to deter and discourage ambassadors of the Gospel and hinder souls from finding salvation. Please pray for the local evangelism ministry so that our churches and brethren can overcome these challenges by the power of the Lord. Pray for them to have renewed strength and courage in 2023 to spread God’s love and snatch stolen hearts back from the devil’s hands.

(46 cps), Journey of Life (22 cps), The Book Inspired by God (20 cps), I Would Rather Have Jesus (20 cps), Sermons Made Simple (20 cps), Our Daily Focus (15 cps), and 122 books of various other titles. Everyone is welcomed to drop by and pick up some books from the SEHC bookroom and grow in Christ through reading. Please recommend this to other brethren who can benefit spiritually from it.

KULUMI LAMB CHILDREN’S AUDIO PLAYER

The adorable Kulumi Lamb plush is a lovely huggable companion for young children equipped with an internal audio player that can read the Bible to them and play hymns and Bible stories. It would make a wonderful friend in the faith for them in the day, at their bedside, and during travels. Made of hypoallergenic materials, the internal audio player can be removed for the lamb to be washed. The player runs on a built-in lithium battery and a charging cable is included. We welcome all orders for the lamb which has English and Chinese audio tracks pre-loaded and is simple to operate. Each lamb retails for S$50 and all proceeds after deducting the cost will go towards funding the CCIS ministry.

“BECOMING OUTSTANDING IN LIFE” AND “BIBLICAL VOICES” – HOW GOD WORKS IN OUR LIVES

Dr. Peter Liu wrote the first book which discusses how people tend to aspire to higher places, feel lonely there, and finally learn that home is where love awaits. Readers will get a glimpse of his encounters with God in his daily life. The author also uses the stories of well-known individuals to explain his analysis of life. He has pre-ordered 2,000 copies of this book from SEHC for his own ministry use. The latter book by Dr. James Yu consists of monologues by biblical characters expressing their heartfelt thoughts. In the book, we learn more about biblical stories and teachings through the words of Noah, Peter, Paul, Moses, Mark, and other characters. These two books are ideal for brethren who would like to learn more about biblical concepts. Pray for the Lord to use them.

“SONG OF A WANDERER” AND “A NEW LIFE” – SCIENCE AND CHRISTIAN FAITH

In the first book, Bro. Li Cheng helps readers to scrutinise the compatibility of science and Christianity through a scientific and logical lens. The author discusses 3 different perspectives regarding this topic and references the verses in the Bible that provided pre-emptive insight into modern scientific facts which the Creator had revealed to the early believers. The second book, by Bro. Li Fang Zhou, is the second volume in the Great Commission Theological Course series and provides guidance on nurturing believers through Bible study. The book talks about how to lead a new life in Christ. At the end of each chapter, there would be a revision exercise to help readers gain a deeper understanding. These books are suitable gifts for new and pre-believers. Please pray for their use.

“PANORAMA OF ISAIAH VOL. 2” AND “EVERFLOWING STREAMS” – HELPING YOU TO UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE

Rev. Liu Daoshun wrote the “Panorama” to bring readers on a journey through the ministry of the prophet Isaiah.  This sequel to Vol. 1 is meant to bear witness for Jesus Christ and His Gospel. Using simple language for modern readers, he analyses and explains key teachings from the events in the book of Isaiah. The late Rev. Hsueh Yu Kwong was the author of the next book, a compilation of his many past writings, including devotional tips, sermon notes, and articles featured in various publications. The author also shares his life experiences with readers using Jesus’ calming of the storm as the context. Pray for these books to help and edify many.

“THE GOOD NEWS” AND “SEVEN STEPS TO BLESSINGS” – HOW TO HAVE A BLESSED LIFE

In the first booklet, the author describes God’s creation of mankind, yet we do not want to draw close to Him and preferred to live according to our own desires. Thus, Jesus had to become incarnate in our world to save us from sin. Lively illustrations in the booklet serves to help readers envision the essence of the Gospel more vividly. Ford of Jabbock wrote the second booklet to guide readers on the journey to seek happiness. He explained that the path towards blessings involved 7 steps, and reminded readers that ultimately, our hearts were key, as from it flows all that we do. To find true blessing, we need to come to Jesus and accept Him. These booklets are effective evangelistic materials planned for reprint in APAC to deliver blessings to many.
